ASTM A36 Steel I Beam is an economical and efficient profile with more optimized section area distribution and a more reasonable strength-to-weight ratio, so it is named because its section is the same as the English letter "I". H-shaped steel has two production methods: hot rolling and welding combined forming.
As the name suggests, hot-rolled beams are a single piece of metal formed into that shape while "red hot," while welded beams are composite profiles made on-site from connecting plates. Welding H-shaped steel is cutting strip steel of appropriate thickness into appropriate width and welding the edges and waist together on a continuous welding machine.
Welding H-shaped steel has the disadvantages of high metal consumption, low production economic efficiency, and difficulty in ensuring uniform product performance. The production of H-shaped steel mainly adopts the rolling process. Hot-rolled H-beams produced using near-net-shape continuous casting blanks and four-roll universal rolling processes have the remarkable characteristics of high quality, high efficiency, low consumption, and low cost. It has great advantages in improving the quality and economic benefits of steel materials.
